Hi everyone, is there any good effects for a huge file or folder to be recycled first then emptying the recycle bin? Or direct delete is more power efficient in terms of hard drive lifespan? This is on a Windows 10 and 11. Thank you!

"useful", in what way?

If just for "lifespan", it makes no difference for either of your procedures.
Thanks I just wanted to learn what is the difference between recycle and sudden deletion, recyclying sounds useful to me at least in real life,

Plus I changed "empty recycle bin" sound from that HORRIBLE sound to good old Windows 98 one so I love emptying it

Delete and goes to the Recycle Bin just marks that file and its space as "Not needed, and Windows file system can use that space whenever it needs."

Actual "Delete" (Shift-Delete) removes the file (mostly, can maybe be recovered).

Neither of which impacts the drive lifespan in any material way.
