is it just me or does the ps3 freaking lag!?!?!

sorry iam soo mad at noobs...

i just played the ps3 that derby game and it sucks..the apitamee of suckiness

Although i agree PC's are superior to Consoles..you're basing this on one game you tried?

PS3 wins on xbox
better console all round.. talk about xbox havin a crap controller.. u want to play a dvd...o here buy this remote as well
performance n games will never b a comparison because developers do not change the graphics for the two platforms and they are quite cos in performance specs
the RSX has it all over the Xenos, its one of the most advanced CPU out there games titles yeah yeah gears of war.... that is ONE game
also PS3 is already considered the best blu-ray player on the market
and thats from a home theater perspective *if u look away from the fct u need a receiver that can decode uncompressed PCM for ur high def sound*

Xbox...more like crotchBox
Someone must have taken your brain out and put it in backwards. I'm not even gonna try and begin to sum up everything that is wrong in you post. All I'll say is this:

And about this thread:

Being as Unbiased as I can be here as a PC/PS3 owner:

The PC will always be gaming king for obvious reasons, consoles will always have a market as well, as they address different markets.

Right now, the XBox 360 is a better gaming system, based on currently available gaming libraries and the extra time developers have had to work with it. PS3 however, has a greater overall upside, and in a year or two when developers learn to harness its capabilities, the games will likely look better.

The XBox 360 makes more sense as a pure gaming device - its got a larger library and a cheaper entry level, while the PS3 makes more sense as a total home entertainment device. This is based on the fact that to get roughly equal capabilities at the top end, the XBox 360 is actually more expensive (around $750 for the 360 once you count the elite version with the wifi adapter and HD-DVD support, vs $685 for the PS3 when you add the 120 GB HD), and the fact that you can put Linux on the PS3 makes it an attractive HTPC option for some of us.

So to summarize, IT ALL DEPENDS ON YOUR PERSONAL PREFERENCE. I know this is a stunning conclusion for some, but its the truth.

LMAO

I agree with most of that.
However, there are still some people in the world that rather not screw with updating drivers,

What like the PS3s; how many firmware updates sofar since launch it's like version 1.6 now?

etc. and just want to play a game in the comfortable living room.

I do that pretty much every weekend with my laptop, and many people have their HTPCs in their living room.

OK Die thread!

Yes because nothing new here, move along....
You're right. But this is not how it should work..

You make some very good points but I want to correct something that alot of people don't know or have ignored. Devs have had final ps3 hardware since dec. '05. They have had final 360 hardware since sept. '05. That is not really a huge difference in development time considering we are in '07 now. The ONLY reason ps3 took this long to get to market was blu-ray laser diodes were not coming along(remember it was supposed to release in march '06). Finally, I wanted to add that the 360 has the better overall gpu and the ps3 has the better overall cpu(tho harder to dev for so improvements will unfold slower). So in the end the 360 will end up with the games that have the "prettier" effects while the ps3 will have physics/sound/A.I. advantages. I currently own a 360 and a high-end pc so no need for a ps3 just yet, but if they really start to take advantage of the cell in some interesting ways I may pick up a ps3. I just don't see it happening anytime soon.

While that is true, many devs have multiple games out for XBox360 already, whereas the same is not true for PS3 devs. My point was that we are on second or third generation games for 360, but not yet for PS3.

I also don't know that XBox will necessarily end up "prettier", since the Cell can also be used for graphics processing. It will be interesting to see if the developers actually decide to take advantage of that or not. I know it will provide some interesting programming challenges to developers.

You brought up another good point but I haven't delved into that functionality of the cell so don't really have anything to add to it. I've heard it can render alot of basic gfx functions but not more advanced things like shaders and such. Cell could be used to offload work from the gpu though to increase gfx output so you could be right about that.

I confess I don't know a lot about it either, but I do know its a beast with crunching numbers, which is a key in graphics processing. I also know that it (Cell, not PS3) is being used in some interesting real time imaging solutions for geology and medical applications, which leads me to believe there is definitely some untapped potential yet. Though we may never see it pass through to PS3.

I like my PS3 so far. I am just waiting to put Linux on it (for a reliable wifi driver) so I can deploy it as an HTPC.

The ps3 is full of potential , we will just have to wait and see if it can fulfill it . :)

I am hoping it can so that all the people who bought it can actually get what they paid for .

GOOD LUCK - i love my 8800 😀

ya i get your point

if you dont have the money for a core 2 duo and 8800gtx than get a ps3

but....why do all these console companies rush the consoles out?
spec wise isnt a 360 better than a ps3?(except for the cell processor when it gets corrected for perfection, but processors arent a huge part of gaming)
360 has the equalvalent of a oced x1900xtx in it(which if iam not wrong i heard it was dx10)
and the ps3 has the equalvalent of a 7800gtx?

I think your funds would best be spent here:

ya ya..to the guy who said the xbox controller is crap...your right...and so is the ps3 controller. The classic ps2 and regular xbox controllers were the best....why change...

and...i thought was funny. One of my friends the other day..who is pro console. I was like doesnt the ps3 lag sometimes and he was like wats that?...and i was like does it skip and he was like yeah.

he played madden on it!

As far as i know the PS3's in stores have NO updates and play a DEMO of motor storm. And yes that demo lagggggs allot and generally feels slow. It is claimed that they fixed this for the real game. ALL games(well high end games) can lag at one time or another. It is up to the programmers to optimize the game for the hardware its on. I would personally take a eye candy hit to keep good frame rates. Always remember some people have more tolerance for lag.

Now lets just let this thread sink to the bottom. The point has been made, but play more(and retail) games before you make that big of an opinion.

8O This is what I get for wandering onto the homepage. Still, I read every post. No sense being discriminatory. So now I'll share some random thoughts:

When I was a kid, I played Quake at 15 fps with an overclocked Pentium 90, and I liked it!

I went to STFU. What year were you there? 😛

If you're not neutral on your stance in game machines, you're a fanboi. If you think grammar, spelling, and lower-case letters are a nuisance, you're a n00b.

+1 for me, too.

Whenever you tell people "this thread is over" they will always (!!!) keep going.

Cow bells are crazy...

Who gives a crap what system you like. Just spend all your money until you can't afford anything else, and then appreciate what you've got.

Go Duke! ...and Dual Shock...and whatever they call the 360 control...and Six-Axis...and Wii-mote...and KBM. Hurray for innovation and product neutrality!

Sorry guys, had to chime in, only because there is something that is fact that this guy doesn't get... 360 doesn't require a seperate remote for DVDs. yes, the original did. Oh well.

Anywho, it's all personal preference. I own a PC and a 360. There are titles that are only available for 360 that I like so I have one. That's pretty much the only reason why.

Atleast learn how to write the language
