My sata cable looks horribly bent and I'm worried I might damage my ssd. Will it damage the ssd or cables and if it works will it reduce the speed of the ssd? Pictures of the cable
What can I do to fix this? If it works and I'm not movkng it around too much then is it fine? Not good for the drive.
You can break sata connector on the drive this way.
It is not cable bend, that is the main issue here. What can I do to fix this? If it works and I'm not movkng it around too much then is it fine?
As long as your not putting a lot of side pressure on the plugs it should be fine.My sata cable looks horribly bent and I'm worried I might damage my ssd. Will it damage the ssd or cables and if it works will it reduce the speed of the ssd? Pictures of the cable
I do not have another cable long enough for the 2 drivesJudging by the rather large angle assumed by the plug on the left there's a considerable amount of pressure on both the plug and connector. This does not bode well for the longevity of either. Use 2 different cables in this instance, and do not fold the wire in between the drives.
Could buying something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Zheino-Splitter-6-Inch-Y-Splitter-Extension/dp/B01MZBDDPM help?Judging by the rather large angle assumed by the plug on the left there's a considerable amount of pressure on both the plug and connector. Something like that will work. And again, do not fold any of the wires down between the drives or you'll wind up in exactly the same place.Could buying something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Zheino-Splitter-6-Inch-Y-Splitter-Extension/dp/B01MZBDDPM help?
Do you think i broke my drives yet by doing thisSomething like that will work. And again, do not fold any of the wires down between the drives or you'll wind up in exactly the same place.
Can't you just bend the wires between the plugs so that there is less side pressure on the plugs/connectors?What can I do to fix this? If it works and I'm not movkng it around too much then is it fine?
I can't. No matter what it just seems to bend back into pressuring the sata connector. Can't you just bend the wires between the plugs so that there is less side pressure on the plugs/connectors?
Use one cable per drive.I do not have another cable long enough for the 2 drives
