Is it OK to button mash mechanical keyboards?

Hi! I'm planning to buy a mechanical keyboard, either one with red cherry mx or brown cherry mx keys. Thing is, i end up button mashing a lot playing my games, especially some fighting games i have on my PC. By button mashing, i mean repetitive, quick, and hard presses on the same set of keys over and over again for a long period of time. That's just how most of my games work. So, is it safe to do this on mechanical keyboards with said red or brown switches? Or will this cause it to wear down and malfunction in a short period of time? Also, would you recommend me brown or red cherry mx for gaming? Thanks

If you button mash a lot, then its probably better to buy a mechanical keyboard with silent switches. Otherwise, the sound your keyboard will make while you mashing it will be unbearable to your family...

And, if its a good quality keyboard, longetivity of it should not be a concern, IMO. But, lets wait for what others have to say on the matter.

All depends how well it's made, but wear-and-tear will eventually take it's toll on any keyboard- - it's just a case of when.
