Title says it all. Recently got it going on my pc w/ GTX 1080. I hiked the fan up to 80%. I don’t hear it while gaming but don’t necessarily want it going the entire time I’m using my pc. Is it ok to revert to default setting after I’m done gaming?

Why would it not be okay? ;)
I hiked the fan up to 80%.
You could set up a fan curve from the settings so it ramps up to 80% when gaming and lower when not. I generally set at 100% for 80+c on graph.

If you're concerned about the temps (safe till 85c), you could install a fan near GPU on case and change the stock paste to something better (5+ W/M.K).
