Hi, this is my first time building a gaming rig so i'm new to pc hardwares. Is it ok to buy RAM sticks separately although it has the same brand and specs? (2pcs 1x8gb instead of 2x8gb kit for a 16gb). Will it still work normally?

Ofcorse,

I did buy 1x 8g ddr4 Hyperx because i did not have enough money for 2x8 gb combo. My pc works just fine. People say that it will work better 2x4 gb than 1x8g. But i did not want to buy 2x4 than later change to 2x8 when i wanted to upgrade. i just buy 1x8gb and later when i get more money buy one more 8gb stick with same specs. I did test this theory with 2x4gb and 1x8 gb of same speed and same brand sticks and did not notice any big difference.

So dont worry. Buy 1 stick of 8 gb and when you decide to upgrade just buy same stick one more time :)

I'm finding myself asking the same question. The G.Skill Aegis 8gb 3000mh is sold as 1 stick as well as a kit. I don't have $140 to spend on a kit, but I have the money to buy 1 stick now. If you can buy them as a kit or single stick, shouldn't they work as a kit if you buy the exact one separately later on?
