Question Is it ok to run large software at same time?

Have 16gigs of ram, is it okay to run davinci resolve 19 and games (for example red dead redemption 2) at same time? But I prefer not to get a bsod. This is a laptop. Windows 10 22h2

It is going to impact gaming performance. Probably cause additional heat as well particularly being a laptop.
