Nope, far too fragile for that - I just broke an old AM2 board I had trying it (just to see if it could be done) - best bet: squeezing it into place with motherboard removed
OK, after much debate...... I have soaked my FX-8350 in 95% Rubbing Alcohol and dried it with a Blow Drier. It is running and performing outstandingly. Hope this answers your question. Also! Rubbing Alcohol has no conductive properties and as long as it dries will cause no problems with electrical equipment. The reason why I dare say "DRY" is because there is 5% H2O and that could cause a problem. BUT! Like cleaning a Bong, The Alcohol will assist in drying the water so as long as you see no trace of Alcohol, there will be no water. ^^

The alcohol does not "assist" in drying the water. Alcohol will evaporate first leaving water behind and then water will evaporate.
The 5-30% water in pharmaceutical alcohol is distilled water, it has very low electrical conductivity as well - as long as it does not pick up water-soluble conductive contaminants like salt. Same goes for alcohol and alcohol-soluble contaminants.
