hello guys i have a question and need your help i have installed my cpu in place and i have made some wiggle before closing the arm the wiggle is up and down to be sure that it has fitted right so i have wiggled it a bit and leave it but the wiggle was up and down and i leave it down not up i mean there is a golden arrow on the front or up of the cpu and i wiggled it down or under the arrow like this -cpu> - cpu> -cpu > where > is the arrow and - is the socket and cpu is my cpu i have made the wiggle like 2 times only and leave it but beside of the arrow way like this -cpu >
is this ok or should i move it to the arrow? and you know the socket is very small so there is no gaps but i want to make sure that when i close the arm will it put the cpu where it should be and thank you.

i have booted the pc and played games for about 2 hours and the temp never go over 58 on cpu and 63 on gtx 970 while gaming my main question is should i push the cpu after wiggling toward the arrow or it will take place where it should be after the retention arm is closed.

Solution
When placing an Intel chip on top of the pins in the socket there will be a little “wiggle room” like you described. Giving the CPU a slight wiggle is fine as long as you’re not forcing it past where it can wiggle. The CPU is slotted to fit in the socket a certain way so as to make contact with the pins. As long as the PC boots then you’re making contact and you have nothing to worry about. Your temps look good, too.
