I have an HD 7770 that I bought second-hand and it will not display on my brother's computer. Fan spins up but no display. His computer is a stock hp a6300f besides a 500w psu, windows 8.1 and the 7770. Motherboard is a MCP73M01H1(napa). GPU is being connected to the computer by a single molex connector. The card works in another computer with a cheap-o stock 300w PSU via the same single molex. Here are the things I've tried so far:
-Reseated the GPU
-6-pin PCIE is plugged in
-Ruled out cables, monitor
-primary graphics adapter is PCIE in bios
-r7 240\gt 720 worked fine so PCIE slot is OK
-Ran windows update (8.1)
-Updated the bios
-Nothing shows in device manager
-Ran driver sweeper to rule out conflicting drivers
-Cleared CMOS
I took out the PSU that ran the card from the other system and put it in this, still no display. Does anyone have ANY idea? Could it be that the geforce 7100\nforce 630i chipset is to blame for not taking the 7770?
