Hi

I have an HDR monitor. However, I would like only to have HDR enabled when i play games and other content instead of all the time. Since SDR is best when I use my computer for work.

Regards

Win 10 is pretty dumb, its all or nothing
win 11 at least has Auto hdr but that might come to 10 in next version - https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/176177-how-enable-disable-auto-hdr-games-windows-10-a.html

but neither is what you want. You want an application that doesn't seem to exist.

Thats a niche for a monitor company to release software for.

Yeah but the "auto HDR" button is not available on my settings. I also thought that "auto HDR" was a feature build into windows that convert SDR contents to HDR.

Unless you running Win 11 now, it won't be. And I don't even know if its in win 11 beta build yet or if its still something to be added.
Your thoughts about Auto HDR are correct.

Windows 11 automatically adds high dynamic range (HDR) enhancements to games built on DirectX 11 or higher that previously only used standard dynamic range (SDR).

Tbh I hadn't really looked to see what it did. My monitor doesn't do hdr so I hadn't looked.

What you are after needs an app to do, something that can switch the modes. Or Microsoft could put it into Windows. Windows is good at giving you the general idea of an app without fleshing it enough to be useful. Multi desktop is in win 10 but its only in win 11 it appears to actually remember previous settings.

I found this app: https://sourceforge.net/projects/hdr-profile/

I've not tested it yet
