Hi. I'm planning on building a pc capable of gaming and 3d work. My budget is $700. Any advice on what parts to pick?

I'm planning on getting an intel cpu since the affordable ryzen ones are mostly sold out in my country. I was hoping is to get an RX 570 gpu when or if the prices go back to msrp. I was hoping to get a motherboard with onboard wifi and m.2 nvme slot.

I already have monitor, keyboard etc peripherals. Those are out of the equation

This system has 3050 with 8gb of vram, which I very much believe is worth the extra $100 over budget. I also included an extra fan, but you can of course measure temps, and see if more fans, or another config would be beneficial. This system is extremely capable, featuring 3050 graphics, 16gb 3200mts cl16, 512gb of 970 evo pro ssd, 10400 6c-12t, very nice micro-atx case, and a rm550x 2021 from Corsair.

Here is the list:

Here is the link to a fan...
The RX6600 is 50+% faster than the RTX3050 for non-RT/DLSS stuff and costs roughly the same price.

Regarding 11th-gen vs 10th-gen, since it looks like all lower-mid-range GPUs will be using truncated x8 PCIe interfaces, it may be advisable to only buy platforms capable of PCIe 4.0 or faster to avoid 3.0x8 becoming a substantial bottleneck, especially if you want the system to have a chance of remaining viable in the upcoming era of DirectStorage games.

Not sure if it’s a typo, but I very much recommend buying a case when you buy the parts. I guess you could put the ssd, ram, cpu, and cpu cooler now, but unless you’re getting a case immediately after the assembly, I would t advise doing so.
I was thinking of getting the cpu, mobo, case and cooler first. The gpu is gonna cost me a lot if I buy now. I can wait till the prices settle to normal.

Seems like my best option is to wait and see what happens in the upcoming months for the gpu. Meanwhile, I'm planning on getting the cpu, mobo, case and coolers first. I can keep working with it till I get a gpu

I'd like to get an RTX3050 myself, though the performance and features aren't worth much over $200 IMO, so current retail prices are still $100+ too high for my liking.

If I were in your shoes, I'd get an i5-11400/12400 and use the IGP until you decide what to do about the GPU.

When I upgraded my PC last year, I got an i5-11400 as a backup in case my GTX1050 decided to croak. That way, GPU failure is a temporary annoyance instead of an emergency.

Isn’t nVidia superior when it comes to 3d work?

The 6600xt is superior when it comes to gaming to the 3050, but honestly I really wouldn’t recommend him getting an AMD card for blender. AMD gpus seem to be a nightmare on blender 3.0
As your reddit post points out, it is only pre-RDNA stuff that got dumped, RDNA2 should work fine. Though the lack of support for OptiX which gives Nvidia GPUs a 2X boost over plain CUDA means Nvidia does have a significant performance advantage there on top of its GPGPU compute advantage.

If the RTX3050's Blender 2.93 -> 3.0 scores scale roughly the same as other GPUs' scores have, the RTX3050 should still be a slightly weaker Blender 3.0 GPU than the RX6600.

I’m not that knowledgeable about the whole topic myself, the OP needs to make sure to research the differences so he can make a good decision on the card.

I'm not in a hurry to get the GPU. I plan on getting a forward compatible system that can run smoothly for years to come. I'll weigh my options once the GPU prices drop. Check the benchmarks both for gaming and 3d work. Hopefully I can get a good card even it's over my 700 budget

If you’re gonna run integrated graphics for multiple years, you should consider getting a 5600g from AMD. It’s more expensive but you’re going to get a lot better performance off of Vega graphics in gaming than intel’s uhd 730 in gaming. The 12400 is going to be stronger over time, but getting a 5600g will offer much better performance in games when comparing the two’s igpu against each other.

TLDR: get 5600g for superior igpu game performance. Get 12400 if you don’t mind the low gaming performance until your discrete card.

(Watch the entire video, so you can see the increased performance with 12400 with a discrete card, and the 12400 vs 5600g igpu performance)

I heard about ryzen's igpus being faster than Intel's. I intend to get a GPU as soon as the prices go back to normal. Hopefully that'll be the in a few months. I don't intend to do anything crazy with the igpu. I'll check and see if any ryzen CPU with igpu are in my budget. Because the affordable ones are mostly sold out here. And the 5600g is almost 250 USD here.

I would just get a 12400 or 11400 if you’re getting a gpu in the following months.
