Is it possible to connect a Multi-Function Router to a PC via LAN and for it to get the Internet via WiFi?

Hi everyone!

I have a 3 in 1 Multi-Function Router (EDIMAX N300 BR-6428nC) and I need it to do something very specific that I've been told by the seller that it can be done with this device.

Basically what I need from this device is to connect to a PC via the LAN port and for the device to get the Internet via WiFi from the main router in the house like so:


|Main Router| ____(WiFi)____ |BR-6428nC| ---(LAN Cable) --- |PC|

(Hope it made any sense )

What I've tried so far is to set the device as a WiFi Extender and it did get the Internet from the main router (Checked it on a working WiFi PC) but the PC connected via LAN cable is not recognizing the device at all.

Is what I'm trying to achive even possible with this device? If so, I would love someone to show me how. And if it's not possible, Can it be done any other way?

I don't know. I looked at the documentation and it doesn't specify if the WIRED ports are enabled when the unit is in "wireless extender" mode.

If you haven't purchased that device, then I know you can do it with one of these -- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833168115 because I have done it.

I've tried both the LAN and WAN (although AFAIK this one shouldn't work)

What you want is a client bridge. The mode is not mentioned in the manual. The extender mode might or might not be made to work as a bridge.
