Is it possible to do a fresh install of Windows 8?

Hi, I'm about to build a pc for a friend of mine. I thought I'd use the Windows 8 Pro offer. But the problem with that is that the Windows 8 Pro is an executable upgrade, which means I can't do a fresh install of it. Therefore, I need to install another Windows OS before I can install Pro.

Can I do a fresh installation of Windows 8 Consumer Preview and then upgrade to Pro?

Don't know, doubt it as that OS doesn't appear in the quaifying list (You didn't have to buy a licence...). You can, however, opt to download an ISO and burn it to a disk, then once you have the disk and a Licence key you can do what you like, ie Format and clean install, or install to a different disk. If you need a 64 bit OS make sure the qualifying OS is the same...

On microsoft's page it says that you can upgrade from Consumer Preview or Release Preview to 8 Pro.
