Hello
I am thinking on adding more RAM to my rig, currently sitting on 4GB(2x2GB) and i was thinking of mixing 1x2GB and 1x4GB to save some money on buying other components. My question is it possible to do that? Answer to this would be much appreciated.
Thank you

My rig:
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 250 Processor
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H
GPU: AMD Sapphire HD 6950 2GB

Its never advisable to mix memory brands, types, or sizes. Rule of thumb, memory should be upgraded in identical pairs.
If you install the memory you are talking about, it might work okay, but even if it does, you lose dual channel operation by mixing in different sizes in that second bank.

OK could you advise which 8GB RAM should i buy that works best with the components and is at a reasonable price. and if possible i would like it in GBP but im willing to go international.
Thank you
