Is it possible to replace Mini USB with USB C on keyboard?

My mechanical keyboard has faired me well, but the one thing that aches me is the connector for the removable cable. It's Mini USB, and has worn out more than once, leading to me having to get it de soldered and replaced. So now that USB C is mainstream, I was wondering whether I would be able to buy a female USB C, de solder the old mini USB and solder on the USB C. I'm no electrician so I've no idea whether it would work. Voiding warranty is no biggy.

Thanks in advance!

The pinouts are much more complex.

And maybe some shorter cable length restrictions....

If you can map out the pinout connections to be soldered and get the soldering done could be worth a try. Especially if warranties are no concern.

However, probably not going to be cost effective or otherwise worth the efforts involved. Other than just for a learning experience.
