Question Is it possible to run a gtx 1050 ti with a 255w psu?

I feel like this is a dumb question... Mainly because the min requirement is 300w However I've seen people run it with 240w, but they were pushing it. I have a Dell optiplex 980 standard (not MT, or SFF) with:
i5 660 (3.3ghz)
16gb ddr3 ram
btx ff motherboard(i believe[it's whatever the computer came with])

I think its going to be cutting it too close and to be honest with a older CPU I'd go GT 1030 2gb as it would pair better as that i5-660 is going to hold back the 1050 ti quite a bit. It's still going to be a massive improvement over the 660 iGPU and power wise it's a safer choice then the 1050 ti.
