Question Is it possible to solder trackpad cables directly with motherboard?

I have an old Compaq Presario V3000 laptop. The flex cable of the laptop trackpad is almost ripped by me once when I was trying to open it on my own. So, I was thinking is it possible to solder the trackpad and the motherboard directly? Because I can't find the suitable flex cable where I live.

The shipping costs more than 10 times than the cable price on ebay. I have tools and access. Thanks for replying.
