I want to transfer the internals of my HP Pavilion into a new case to make space for a new graphics card and just improve overall aesthetics. I've heard HP has proprietary motherboard connections and sizes and just want to double check.

Solution
I do not think so without a good deal of compromises. the mounting holes look standard.

  • Form factor: Customized: 24.9 x 26.7 cm (9.80 x 10.5 in)
that is not a standard motherboard and you will lose the front ports and switches if you install it into a larger case. you can extend the ports with extension cables. it is doable but its not a simple swap and done item either.

possible? yes
easy peasy? no
