Did the current damaged mouse allow dedicated buttons to generate the reports?
For the most part, committing to or continuing the use of programmable mouse buttons is going to end up being both restrictive and problematic.
I would not recommend dedicated mouse buttons.
Just use the mouse (any mouse) to directly click a menu item or an icon to generate the desired Access report(s).
Much simpler and avoids any number of future problems that will be created by forcing the use of specific mice and the need for customized button configurations.
Likely to need constant updates if the customizable mouse manufacturer changes hardware/software/ supporting apps and so forth.
And an accidental mouse button click could result in the waste of paper and ink. And more if the printed output is sensitive information.....
Stay with a standard mouse and do not use programmable mouse buttons.
That is the decision I would make.
