going to take pc parts to my computer class to work on it. however my wireless card wil be shipping in later. I'm wondering if I can just put it in my PC on my bed while PC is unplugged obviously.
It's bad practice, as static electricity can damage pc parts. However, i have never damaged any components myself, nor known anyone who has. It's also a good idea to leave the pc plugged in, and use the psu switch to turn the power off while working, that way the ground wire in the psu can take static electricity out of the case and into your homes ground wiring.

No, static electricity might build up which can damge the computer parts. Work on a desk

My father always shouted at me when I put laptop on the bed, he said it may get burned the sheet. Especially the Ultrabook, they're tiny, but produce heat faster then other bigger ones
