I have this Asus Strix GTX 1080 that I was able to overclock to 2GHz without messing with the voltage. Is it safe to keep it overclocked all the time? I see temp and clock speed goes down when i'm not gaming (39C, 139MHz).
Temp and clock speed should go down when it's not being utilized, that's normal.
What you should be looking out for is temperatures under load, if temps don't go over 85C, you're good. I'd try to keep it around 80 if possible.

Thank you for the respond. When in full load, the highest temp I have seen was 75C. I guess the fan curve I have set was good enough. I asked this question because I just would like to know if I can avoid switching between profiles. I have this GPU profile for gaming and non-gaming.
