Question Is it safe to lock GPU fans to max 50% of their speed?

Hello. I have a MSI mech 2x RX 6650 XT and its a very loud card under stress. Is it alright to set fans speed limit to 50% so the card is quieter? I ran a stress test with those settings and my GPU max temp is 64c and GPU hot spot temperature 85c.

include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time. Include the number of fans in your build and their orientation. Ambient air temps?

The fans should adjust based on load.

Other tips:
Cool the room better
Add more Case fans
Upgrade to a better card
Move the computer area little further from your sitting position

You can just set a fan curve in https://getfancontrol.com/ that will keep it at 50% or below until it hits 85C. End result should be the same (you'll likely have to tweak a little) but you'll have the safety of fans still ramping up if things get too hot.

Will limit the GPU's performance but won't result in any harm. GPU will crash if it overheats, you can then increase the fan speed limit.
