[SOLVED] is it safe to mix 2 different models of ram sticks

so i wanted to upgrade my ram from 8gb to 16gb dual channel, first i wanted to buy the same model but i could not find any available, even used, so i opted to find the most similair 8gb ram stick i can, and i did, it was the same brand, same frequency, same capacity (8gb), and same cas latency, but it was a different model, so i wanted to know, if this would be a safe buy, or do i need to just buy a full on new 2x8gb pack?

All things being the same, 2 different ram modules not packaged together may not work together. You could try it but there's no way to guarantee it. If it was me I'd get a new set but it's up to you.
