is it safe to overclock

i have a xeon 1231v3 and a asrock h81m-hds and under load the temperatures reach about 122F. my cpu is at 3.40ghz and my mobo will allow me to overclock it to 3.8ghz. is it safe to overclock it to 3.8ghz? i have a 500w evga psu and a 750ti

No, you can't OC a Xeon. Normal clock rate is 3.4Ghz and the turbo clock rate is 3.8Ghz.

So even it was possible to OC a Xeon then you would be sitting at the normal turbo speed = no difference. 😀

yes you can overclock it to 3.8 but if you're scared you may wanna check some videos or see some tips about overclocking a computer with your specs, because if you mess around with the Voltage you may fry your Computer

Correct. Pretty much anytime a CPU gets to load it will automatically use the turbo frequency, which is already 3.8Ghz in your case.
