[SOLVED] Is it safe to update the driver of my operating system disk?

A good Image (not the built in Windows thing) is included in the concept of "known good backup".

its hp by omen 880-197, the only reason I think I should is because I went to device manager and in the driver properties it says its from 2006, I updated the chipset and grahpics card drivers recently, so I thought why not continue and update all of them.

Unless something is busted leave it alone.
I have a nvme ssd and see the same 2006 driver.

Perhaps there is nothing wrong with the driver so no reason to update.

ok.. a little weird in my mind, ssd was just becoming popular and nvme didn't exist in 2006
