Is it safe to use MOLEX to 8-pin CPU?

So I just got this Asus B350-F as well as a Ryzen 1700 and a stick of 8GB ram. The thing is my PSU is kinda old, its a DEER running at 480 watt and for what its worth its been doing good with my current setup (b85m-e, GTX 1050 Ti, i5 4460 and 2x4GB of ram). But unfortunately it has a 4 pin connector for the CPU and the new motherboard needs an 8 pin to work. Is it safe to just use the 4 pin on the 8 pin or is it better to use a MOLEX to 8 pin adapter? I dont currently have money for a new PSU so please don't start with that, if its not safe tho I can stay with my current setup till I get a new PSU next month

You need a new PSU, for multiple reasons.

Just...No.. Don't even try that unless you don't have an issue with potentially having to buy a new power supply and motherboard.

No.......It will melt under load. or worse, start a fire.

Also those are EPS connectors not PICe Connectors. Different pin layout and power draw.
