Is it the time for an GPU upgrade?

As title says, I am unsure what to do right now with my PC.
Currently I sport R9 290 Vapor-X along with R5 1600 and 16Gigs of ram. This gpu is already 4 years old and is showing its age. Right now I have a 75Hz freesync monitor which I plan on upgrading to 144Hz Freesync monitor after I collect enough cash after (possible) gpu upgrade.

As the market in my country seems (Europe). I was considering purchasing a used GPU. As AMD cards are overpriced and there is nothing in my budget (rip freesync), I was considering getting an 1070 Gaming X for 323€ (Barely 6 months old) or 1070Ti Gaming X for 377€ (Year old). Are these prices still inflated and should I wait out a bit longer or go for one of these two options? With 1070 I'd have cash faster for 144Hz monitor upgrade, however 1070Ti would give me a longer future proof and I really love to future proof my system. Alternatively, my "idea" was, whoever lowers the price first from sellers, I'd go with that GPU.

I would appreciate any opinion. Thanks.

Both Gtx1070 and Gtx1070ti are good deals. I would choose the Gtx1070 since its cheaper and the performance difference is not that big. However if the guy selling the used Gtx1070ti lowers the price then the Gtx1070ti would be the better choice.

Well my games always do change, right now I play GTA V, Fortnite, Overwatch and I do try more demanding titles such as Battlefield once in a while so I really do want high end.
