Is it time for an upgrade from 280x and 1080p

Guys, I am about to refresh my config, but within the flow of the last month I get lost.

Currently, I have a vapor-x tri-x 280x VGA, with a (PWM) LGIPS277L @ 1080p.
Back in february it was clear to me: I want a new 1440p IPS monitor:
- Dell U2515H or
- ASUS PB278QR
For every day usage and normal gaming (no online fps or whatsoever).
I've also detected that I will lack graphics card power, so decided to upgrade a 290x (the sapphire vaporx trix custom cooling is unbeatable by my exp.).
In March, while reading the sudden news: r9 3xx series, adaptive snyc, 144hz, dx12 and shit...all come live.
Is it a proper time to upgrade? Should I wait? Will the r9 2xx prices drop till the 3xx comes in Q2? New (not TN) monitors around the house to watch?

Thanks in advance!

I personally think it is a poor time to upgrade. For example, I was going to upgrade to 16Gb DDR3 RAM, but knowing that DDR4 is just about mainstream later this year, I decided to wait. I think since the 3xx is probably soon around the corner, I'd wait. It should be out probably in May/June I'd assume, and the 280x should be satisfiable for the time period.

You don't want to upgrade only to find that the next month the 3xx came out for a similar price and performs 35% better.

My target budget for a GPU is around the current price of 290x, as I understand the 390x will be much more, at least till 2015Q4 and 380x not ships too may new things.

What do you think about the monitors? Those two have quiet high price and I don't want the selected one be outdated in 1 year. Is this freesync the real deal or not really matters with high end GPUs?
