Hey guys, I was wondering if it was viable to use 2x 120mm case fans on the radiator of a liquid cooled CPU block setup or if the fans needed to be connected to the motherboard's CPUfan pins to monitor speed? I have the same case fans with RGB lighting around my case and I'd like to keep the athestetic, this is why I'm asking. Thanks

Are you talking about a fully liquid cooled custom cooling, or a simple AIO on the cpu with just a couple of black tubes from cpu to radiator?

And definitely need to know the exact fans, rgb fans in general aren't great fans anyways, compared to un-lit fans, since all the gadgetry to control the lighting has to go somewhere which means chopping out a chunk of the motor to make space.

Pictures work great 👍

We ask, because there's a very large difference between the 2 basic fan types.

CFM fans are designed to move ALOT of air.
Static Pressure fans are deigned to MOVE a lot of air.

Generally case fans as such are higher cfm and lower pressure, so will move a ton of air into a case that has little restriction.

Generally radiator...

Generally radiator fans as such are higher pressure, so will force air through a restriction like a radiator.

Of course many fan designs are hybrids, jacks of all trades and masters of none since the blade design tries to incorporate both types and ends up rather mediocre. This is where most RGB/ARGB fans end up, with fashion overriding function.
