Question Is it worth getting the 4090 over the say 3090TI?

I dont see a huge improvement.Am I seeing something wrong? Lot more money for not so much looks to me.Any opinions?

How much better is the 3090 Ti over the 3090?

Because comparing my 3090 to my 4090 it was definitely worth it.

That performance boost didn't come from the 10900k to the 11900k upgrade... it was the only upgrade I made other than the GPU and I only did that for PCIE 4.0. Nothing else changed on my PC. 🤣

If you have the money/don't mind spending it, absolutely. 4090 wrecks pretty much everything.

Yep... 100% truth. There's subpar 4000 series cards... then there's the 4090. The only one in the series worth buying IMO. It is a quantum leap improvement in performance over the 3090 as shown in my previous post.

REALLY? It's funny i see so many thoughts on how it isn't worth it for the price, but thanks ,good to know.Maybe those thoughts from people are bottlenecking it or just not tweeking it right

Keep in mind a lot of those people complaining about the price will drop $1400 on the latest iPhone without batting an eye. 🤣

The 4090 is totally worth it... if you game in 4K like I do. Lower resolutions I wouldn't waste my money.

Travis nailed it. People's priorities.

The AMD 7900XTX sometimes comes close but that is few and far between and with Ray Tracing off. As of right now the 4090 is godtier. If you look at some of the charts, it feels like there are two cards missing between the 4080 and 4090, it wrecks the other cards so hard. And again compared to the 3090, it's no contest. The 4080 isn't bad, it's just bad at the price it's set at.

It doesn't help that devs are getting lazy and relying on DLSS and FSR respectively. Some dislike it but DLSS3 Frame Generation makes a massive improvement in its own right which as you may or may not know is 40-series exclusive.

Disclaimer, it sounds like I'm fanboying out but I do have AMD cards, I'm just not as impressed.

... and you nailed it. I still haven't picked my jaw up off the floor from when I installed the 4090 and started running benchmarks last week. 14k to 25k in Port Royal as linked in my first post... and other benchmarks were equally as impressive. The performance improvement is like the best I've ever seen from generation to generation.

I haven't even overclocked yet.

LOL no it was me,i had multiple questions and the one you were answering to i had already asked a didnt realize so i edited it to another question. You're not nuts haha
Ok. Phew!

I have to answer your new question with more questions. Are you reaching the limit of your resolution and graphics settings? Are the games you're playing requiring the use of such a powerful card as the 4090?

My experience is that the 7900xtx pretty much maxes out my 120hz 4k with all the games I play. Obviously raytracing is another story, though. But at over $600 less it was the "smart" choice.
