Hi there since SSD's are becoming very affordable these days i was thinking about adding another and doing a Raid 0 setup if this is the best setup to use

I already have a Toshiba 128GB SSD i know this would mirror the memory allowing up to 1000 Write Speed And Read Speed is it worth it is it worth reinstalling windows for this cause would my FX 8320 take advantage of it would games like Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas benefit from it or is it just for boosting for benchmarks which i don't really care about personally does it allow 256GB Storage sorry i'n not very savvy at this subject ;-)

Thanks

Joe

650mb/s to 700mb/s doesn't seem like a massive increase in speed considering my drive is 500mb/s now would you recommend this or should i pass and save for a better DVI monitor 🙂

Thanks

Joe

These days most SSDs can read at 550MB/s. In raid that can jump to 650 or maybe 700.

sata 3 only runs at 6gb/s = 750mB/s So you can't get 1000.

Get a better monitor. or set up the new SSD in RAID 1.

My bet is on the monitor.

save for a better monitor

as pci-e ssds are getting more popular the price of sata ssds will keep falling so in a while you can just get a bigger ssd than that 128gb

getting closer to the point where a 500/512gb ssd will be the sweet spot price/performance

where at the moment the 250/256gb is the sweet spot

I don't think SSD in raid is worth the hassle.

well I went from 1 ssd drive to raid 0, and it says over 1000mbps w/r, but really I didn't notice much of a speed increase as 500 mbps is pretty quick any way , heh but I was running out of space with a single 120 gb drive but!!
