So i just built my first PC. Yet to add a GPU since the one i want is out of stock. I was playing some games and i noticed 90% of RAM usage. I'm guessing it's because of the textures. Also pc slowed down during installation of some big games. As of now my pc has one Corsair 8GB 3000Mhz RAM stick. I have a couple of 4GB 2400Mhz RAM sticks lying around from my nephew's dead pc. Is it worth it to add them to my system and run at 2400Mhz all sticks for now or i would be better off with the one 3000Mhz stick?
CPU : i7 8700
Mobo : MSI Z370 A-PRO
RAM : Corsair 8GB 3000Mhz
Monitor : Acer KG241Q P 144HZ
Storage : 2 X 240GB SDD, 1TB WD blue
PSU : Corsair 550w

RAM can be tricky.

Start by reading the Mobo's User Guide/Manual with respect to supported memory configurations.

Plus take a look at the recommended RAM requirements for the games you play. RAM requirements likely listed as minimal, recommended, and best.

Single channel, Dual channel, mixed....

Overall, the PC will only run as fast as the slowest component.

Likely to be no harm if you add in, as posted, the additional RAM modules.

Gaming impact - simply TBD until you try.
