Is it worth the upgrade? (RX 580 > 1050Ti)

I wanna upgrade my GPU, I currently use a GTX 1050Ti.

The Radeon RX 580 8GB catched my eye and I was wondering if it is a good upgrade but most of all if it is worth it.

Thanks

Other system specs? Power supply? It's not a bad upgrade. But it's also a GPU that's been out for awhile now. Not sure when AMD will be releasing new mid-range GPUs, probably not anytime soon since they just release the RX 590. Nvidia on the other hand may release the rumored GTX 1660 Ti that could be worth waiting for; although I'm sure it will cost more than what you can get an RX 580 8GB for.

CPU, Ryzen 5 2600
DRAM, 16GB
PSU, 650W

Ive also been thinking about a RTX 2060. what about that?

Yeah, I agree with WildCard999. The RX 580 8GB has been good for 1080p 60fps for the past two and a half years (including the RX 480 8GB, which is basically the same GPU), but we can't say for sure the next couple of years would be the same. The RTX 2060 on the other hand is in a whole other tier above the RX 590.

Does the RTX 2060 support Freesync though?

Yes. Nvidia just enabled gysnc on freesync panels in a recent driver update.

It's true, for the most part. With their Jan. 15th driver update, Nvidia allows GTX 10 and RTX 20 series users to "Try" using AMD FreeSync monitors via an option in the Nvidia Control Panel. They claim, “it may work, it may work partly, or it may not work at all.” I think it greatly depends on the quality of the AMD FreeSync monitor, which is the problem with FreeSync. It's unregulated which has results in low quality adaptive sync features being used in some FreeSync monitors.
