Is it worth upgrading to an R9 270?

Hi everyone!

Just got a quick question concerning the R9 270 graphics card. I currently have a Radeon HD 7750 1GB DDR3 GPU and was wondering if I should upgrade to the R9 270 so I can play next-gen games like Alien Isolation and Middle Earth:SOM. Is it worth upgrading? or should I be okay with my current GPU? What do you guys think?

I can play FC3 at 40-50 fps on high, no AA, 1440x900 resolution

I'm also going to be getting a 1080p monitor.

r9 270 is more than 2 times powerful than the 7750

you will be able to play fc3 on high 2xAA at 1920x1080p resolution...

its a 1080p card.. get it.. happy upgrading..

make sure you have psu atleast 500w

If your stepping up to 1080p having 2gb of vram is pretty important or 3 even better.

If your on a budget I would try to get at least the 270x.

Yes, the R9 270 is a much faster gpu. You will get a nice performance increase.

Keep in mind it the r9 270 needs ~150 watts instead of the ~50 watts the HD 7750 needs, so you might also have to upgrade your psu.

Yeah sure, it's worthy to upgrade to a R9 270. But it's better if you get a R9 270X because its much future proof than the R9 270. You can overclock it in future to get better frame rates in next gen games. Keep in mind, most of the games are optimised for Nvidia. Goodluck and happy gaming bro.

amd optimizes games too

The fact that a hand full of console games where developed on nvidia gpu's is kinda a joke since they are powered with amd tech. I would expect patches to help out. either way it is a good upgrade decision and cheaper than its gtx 760 equivalent.

Alien Isolation= amd optimized, Middle Earth:SOM= amd optimized, Far Cry 3 = nvidia optimized.
It varies alot and really doesn't make any difference if you play a variety of games. If you play only 1 game it would be good to know which team it plays better with.

Good choice Might be able to find a good deal on a r9 280-280x. Always good to shop around.
