I am going to my grandmas place soon and would like to know whether the ram I bought is compatible with the foxconn n15235. I worked out by counting the pins in the ram slot from this image that It us ddr2. The bottom half of the slot is 65 pins. I was surprised when I got the stick of ram that it looked short. I don't know if this is a problem. I have an image here if it helps at all. http://imgur.com/pHefsMu

Solution

DDR2 and DDR3 each have the same amount of pins (240) or lines if you call it that way. They are just keyed (the notch) differently so you don't place it in the wrong type of socket.
If you think that is Foxconn G41MX v2.0, then
I suggest you get a 8GB (2x 4GB) PC2-6400 DDR2-800MHz kit , to avoid incompatibility issues with the current RAM module.
Are you asking if you should use the e5700 stock...

How much RAM does the system has at the moment?
Foxconn n15235 line has a several motherboards that could supports either DDR2 or DDR3
The motherboard in your picture looks like foxconn G41MX v2.0 , which support up to 8GB Dual Channel DDR2 800/667/533.
Is that the model number?

I have no clue man. I counted the lines on the ram slot and got 65 on the bottom half. I think that is how many ddr2 is meant to have. It currently has 2gb of ram and a pentium e5700 If that is usefull. I would also like to know if the stock cooler would still work with a core 2 quad q6600 or if I should get a different cooler.

Are you asking if you should use the e5700 stock cooler with the Q6600? The answer is no, it could get pretty hot.
Even the Q6600 Intel stock cooler have a hard time keeping the CPU cool and I don't see any fans on that PC case.
I suggest you get a Cooler Master Hyper T3 or T4 for the Q6600.
