I'd love to see a new AoE, though personally I'm hoping they'll make the game a bit less spammy; one of the few things AoE3 did right was provide formations, rather than just one huge chaotic mess of units, but the setting just generally sucked.

AOE 3 disappointed me with the non-historical campaign, but I have to admit that in terms of core strategy it was usually better than AOE 2. The main thing I disliked was some of the highly restrictive build limits, but if you're savvy with XML you can remove those quite easily.

Keep in mind the AI doesn't understand that - I cheated and the AI built so much it bluescreened one time xD

I was top 10 in the world out of 70,000+ players in AOE 1 on Microsoft's gaming zone and I couldn't play 2&3 without falling asleep, so any return to the franchise would have to make gameplay flow a lot better

I probably have a really unpopular opinion, but I loved Age of Empires Online. I loved the online aspect of it but they needed to improve the matchmaking a ton. Also probably another unpopular opinion but I loved the equipment/gear you collected from quests and can use in battle against your friends. It gave me a reason to keep playing so I can get better gear than my friends and boast to them about it. It was also good that they gave you the option to play without gear also. Anyways I loved most aspects of the game, I loved the cartoony graphics, but one thing they just needed to improve is the online matchmaking, which was god awful.
