Is multi-monitor CPU intensive?

my setup's main parts are an i3-4170 processor (2 cores 4 threads 3.7Ghz) and a R9 380X Nitro 4gb. I'm currently running on a 900p screen but I plan to upgrade my main screen to a 1080p screen later in the year, and use my 900p screen as a possible second monitor although I'm still not sure. I want to just use it to display facebook and/or emails, but I'm worried my CPU might be too taxed to handle it? will it have much effect on my CPU resources (which I want to keep as open as possible to avoid bottlenecking).

Also I can't get an i5 because reasons.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

I run three screens on a pretty old CPU (i5 750). Generally speaking it has very little impact. Having a blank second screen will have 0 CPU impact. Having an add invested website open that has multiple videos playing will have a non-trivial impact, even 20-30% CPU usage is possible at worst. But as long as you have relatively static content on the second screen, or content that doesn't need resources, it'll have basically no impact on your gaming at all.

If you're worried about content on your second screen using resources, just open it and look in task manager (without the game open).
