[SOLVED] Is my Amazon Fire 7 Tablet a goner?

Its a 5th generation tablet.

I haven't used it for a few years. Then I tried charging the tablet yesterday and I get intermittent problems like screen/tablet turning on/off during charge and its totally dead when I take it off charge.

I charged it all day but still get same problem where its dead with no micro usb cable connected to it.

My tablet is now good for the trash can or can it be saved without opening it up and if so how?

Likely the battery is just...dead.

No fix other than replacing the battery.

Given that a new 7" Fire is $50...'fixing it' probably isn't worth the time and money.
