Is my card dead?

Hi,

I had a BSOD, with the unexpected store exception error. After restarting, my monitor through the graphics card (gtx 970) did not connect. The fan on the card still runs. I have removed, cleaned and replaced it; as well as reinstalled the drivers. It appears in device manager as not connected (code 45). To no avail.

Is the card dead, or just faulty. How can I be certain before buying a new one?

You can try updating the motherboard BIOS and motherboard drivers. If something got corrupted that may fix it.

The only real way to know for sure is to try moving the GPU to another known to be working system (preferably with a n Nvidia GPU).

You can also go the warranty repair or just repair route (depending upon whether it is still in warranty).

I tried the card in a different pc, that I know works, and it didnt work with the faulty card. So I'm presuming its dead

I would say yes it is dead. It may be serviceable though.
