Hello, I have a quick question. I have the ROG STRIX Z270H GAMING motherboard and I plan on purchasing the Intel® Core™ i9-9900K Processor. Can someone please confirm that they're compatible with one another?

From my research all parts appear to be suitable. My motherboard has a LGA1151 socket which it has and the CPU accepts DDR4 memory so looks all okay, but I'm not 100%. Please can someone confirm this for me?

Thank you very much! :)

Not compatible. The Z270 chipset is only compatible with 6th and 7th gen cpus. the 7700k is the best cpu your board supports. The 9900k is only compatible with Intel's 300 series chipsets.
Your research must not have included the motherboards cpu compatibility list. https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-z270h-gaming-model/helpdesk_cpu
Thanks! You're right I didn't. I'll use the compatibility list from now on. You mentioned chipsets, is there a good video explaining all the different factors I should look out for that you know of?
