Is my CPU / GPU bottle-necking?

Is there a bottle neck here?

RAM: 8 GB DDR3
CPU: AMD A10-7860K Radeon R7, 12 Compute Cores 4C+8G 3.6GHz
GPU: NVIDIA gtx 1050
OP systm: 64 bit win. 10.
PSU: 500 watts
MOBO: ASRock FM2A88M-HD+

When I play Battlefield 1 Multiplayer I experience an average of 20 fps. Even on the lowest and most optimised settings.
* I use an external hardrive for the files. Seagate.
* Drivers and bios are up-to-date.
* There is room for an extra 8 GB slot should it require one.

I have tried a lot, but I need to know what to do from here... any help
would be greatly appreciated ty

Most processors are bottlenecked by the GTX1050, but, alas, AMD's older CPUs pretty much bottleneck any GPU.

A video on youtube with your cpu shows up to a max of about 32 fps, but, frequent dips into the 20's...

Yes, your CPU is a bottleneck here. Battlefield Multiplayer is very CPU-intensive, and you have a weak CPU, so the bottleneck is worsened.

So an upgrade to the CPU is the only way to see improvement? Any suggestions for cpu that'll see me stable at least 30 fps?

I would get a kaby Lake Pentium or a Ryzen CPU
