hello i just installed a gtx 670 and have a amd phenom ll X2 550 as a cpu and i have a http://www.amazon.com/AMD-Phenom-3-4Ghz-512KB-4000MHZ/dp/B002SRQ214 cpu on the way. im wondering is my cpu bottlenecking my gpu that bad thats its limiting my game to 50 fps? im playing mx simulator when i play on high graphics its at 50 and when i play on lowest possible graphics its still at 50 fps. before i would be a 125 fps average on high graphics. and will the cpu i have on the way bottleneck my gtx 670?

i forgot to add that when im playing it also i can ride around at normal speed and then its like i go into a little slow motion and then i go to normal speed again when playing and its a little jumpy as well

New CPU shouldn't be a bottleneck except in CPU intensive games. You have the latest drivers and all that right? The amd phenom ll X2 550 will be a bottleneck. Overclocking slightly would be a good option.

yea i know my like 10 dollar cpu is bottlenecking lol. i have updated my graphics card drivers but i actually dont know if ive done my cpu. but im wondering if my cpu is causing the fps being stuck?

Any weird issues is probably just the CPU, wait till you get the new one to see what happens. In Windows do you have the power options set to high performance?

you mean overclock? i belive so, and my cpu is at 40 *C when idleing?

I mean under: Control Panel\System and Security\Power Options set it to high performance

the high performance thing did a difference. i can play on my old specs in arma and dayz and stuff but a little better. i got my graphics card to about 55 *C is that to high?

Don't worry about GPU temps, they always run pretty hot.

ok my new cpu came in and my mx simulator is still at 50fps on any graphic setting but i can run highest everything on 50 fps now so i know the upgrade is working properly so i think it may be the game. and what tempature should my cpu idle at its at 36*C right now and when i play a game its around or just above 50*C is that a decent tempurature. im not sure if i applied to much thermal paste

Anything under 60-70 is great. In that space you're hot but not dangerously so, 70+ is bad because over time your temps creep up as dust gathers in the case and 80 is really the point at which the CPU either starts throttling or starts dying. This goes for nearly all CPUs.

thanks. im using my old heatsync and fan cause the one it came with is missing an arm to lock in onto the motherboard 🙁
and how do i uninstall my old drivers like my old ati radeon 6870 drivers since i switched to nvidia.

gtx 670 with that cpu?you may want to oc a bit or change the cpu!i am not sure about frames but the graphics card is not fully used with this cpu!

what program would you reccomend to overclock my cpu. and i just brought the cpu for 100 so im not chaning it.
(AMD Phenom II X4 965)

The Phenom IIs aren't slow. Gamerk, stop being asinine.

@OP The Phenom IIs should never go past 60C. That's their limit, and if they go over, damage is caused to the CPU.

These.
