Question Is my CPU supposed to be at 100% while gaming

I just got battlefield 1 to see how good the graphics are, and my CPU is at 100% most of the time (excluding loading screens) but its only 50°C-60°C. Is this normal?

What resolution/quality are you running the game at? Are you using anything in the background?

Many newer games (BF1, BF5) will absolutely use 100% of your CPU, especially at 1080P resolution with an RTX2060...

BF1 can certainly utilize more than 6 threads, and seemed to scale well up through at least 10-12 threads..

I'd say normal for that game. Any resolution from 1080p up and that's pretty much right.

I'd expect 60C to be quite routine on BF1 (if anything, the temps are fairly low, and very good; do your clock speeds appear to hit/sustain 3800-4000 MHz under load at least?

OK thanks for the help, I actually run it on 1360x768 60fps, since my old monitor (which is a small T.V.) only goes up to that. I also run it on Ultra preset, and usually nothing is running in the backround.

Totally normal for BF games to hammer the cpu. It only becomes a problem if you aren't getting the fps you want, but your cpu should be fine pushing 60fps in BF games. Now if you wanted to maintain 140fps that might be a different story.

Yea, thanks again for explaining this. I always thought my CPU was too bad to run games like this, but now I know that its typically only in BF games. Thanks for the help
