Question Is my GPU Die ok?

So, i came off worried tonight as i was disassembling this $30 AMD GPU i got from craigslist, to replace the thermal paste on it with a higher quality Thermal Grizzly one, and noticing that the die looks chipped on the left corner. is it okay or did i spend 30 dollars on nothing?

What GPU is that?

Doesn't necessarily look damaged... but doesn't look quite right.
That being said, GPU dies are very sensitive (relative to other computer components). Apply your paste, reassemble the card.

If it 'works', you're very likely to be fine. Run some stress tests to be sure though.

Update, it's completely dead. Nothing could bring it back to life.
