So I was playing GTA V on my pc for a couple hours, and then switched to CoD MW2. I had been playing for about an hour when all of a sudden my computer screens went random colours and the sound was kind of like a vibrating sound, and then my pc restarted. I have had a similar experience before, with a BSOD and found out it was faulty ram. This is new ram, and I ran a quick memtest with no errors. and there is no BSOD. I have a gtx 660 sc, fx 8350, corsair 500 psu, 8gb corsair ram. Any ideas as to what could be the problem here? This happens when I play any game at all. The temps seem to "jump" up all of a sudden, like from 40 to 55. I have the fans in precisionX set to "aggressive" mode. I was planning on getting a r9 390 eventually, am I gonna have to make the jump early? 🙁
Edit: I have tried rolling back to older drivers and then updating back up, no luck. When I was playing GTAV, GeForce Experience set the settings to where the Video RAM was set at ~2400mb out of 2000, as my card has 2 gigs of memory. Could that have messed up something? While watching precisionX, the voltage seems to go from ~800-900 and then up to 1100. Is that normal? If I need to buy a new gpu, please recommend a whole build minus RAM and a gpu, as the r9 390 is the one I plan on getting.
