[SOLVED] Is my GPU dying?

A few days ago while editing my screens suddenly went black.

Removing the graphics card, the computer displayed off the mother board just fine.
I wiped the GPU drivers, updated, and re-installed the card.

At this point the card seemed to work again for several days until today when my screens randomly shut off again -- while idling

Not sure what my next move should be.

Specs:

I7-3770
Evga 1060 3GB
windows 10 64 bit

Check to see if fan spinning. Had same problem from same company.

Sounds like a dying card. You should also check the thermals of the card while under load to see if there is a cooling issue.

Run off the iGPU for a while and see if the screen goes black, if not then chances are its your card.

Ah yeah I'll try that. I only ran it off the Mobo long enough to install drivers.

EVGA 500W White. It's 2 years old.

When I boot the fan spins briefly but then stops

So i plugged in my old GeForce 545 and it works.

The 545 doesn't need to plugged into the PSU so i guess it doesn't rule out the PSU but my card slot definitely works at least.

Can you test the card in another computer?

Sorry Im not more helpful, but dying cards can do weird things. Your PSU is not exactly the best in terms of quality so it could also be failing to delver the power needed under load.
