Is my graphics card better without this plastic case ?

It's the Gibabyte Gtx 750 Ti Low profile, i wonder if the plastic shown has an actual use or pure stetics, and if removing it will make it run cooler.

It will probably run warmer, as it directs air over the fins of the heatsink. I don't know that it would make a huge difference, but it does something.

The shroud has a purpose. Air from the fan is forced into the fins. Most of that air rebounds out of the fins, hits the shroud and is directed back to the fins further from the fan. Without it, very little airflow will actually reach the outer edges of the heatsink, meaning it doesn't cool as effectively, so runs hotter and overheats faster.

Put it back on.
