Is my graphics card bricked?

So, I have a Gigabyte R9 280x, and at some point it stopped running games (errors about a display driver crashing) and I fully uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers several times, trying all kinda of drivers, and essentally troubleshooted the shit out of it. No cigar, I tried everything, and have been under the impression that it is dead for months. Then I thought of it, at one point I messed around with changing it's bios. I am aware it has a dual bios switch, but I didn't know what I was doing, and may have messed up both. Does this sound like a bios problem?

I have the same sort of problem with my R7 260X. For me, it turns out that it has nothing to do with my display drivers, but the overclock I had on my card at the time.

Games would crash with the card, slowly at first, but increasing with frequency over time. Eventually, it got to the state where I could not play games at all. A simple but 100% effective fix I found with my card was to reset the overclocking settings, and try running a game like that. It turns out that even though my card was completely stable under idle loads and AMD's own mini stress test, it would fail under the load of a game such as BF3.

So, try resetting your overclocking settings and see if that helps.

Hope I've helped!

Hmm, I did overclock at one point, but I have (Im pretty damn sure) it at stock speeds atm. I'll have to try later, but I'll let you know. Currently taking a unnecessary break from writing a 10 page paper.
