Is my graphics card dead or will upgrading psu fix it

Recently I purchased a gtx 980 g1 edition which requires 600w, I have a vs550w corsair power supply and I have connected all 16pins necessary. When I boot up my pc the fans are quite loud on the graphics card. Is there a fix for this or is my gpu dead?

Thanks for all the help but I am now 99% sure I was scammed . I sent him a message just saying about how its not working and about 5mins after I had not received a reply and he has deleted his profile. Again I appreciate your help and hope you have a great christmas.

You have to pick up a solution.Go to Jack's awnser and when you put your cursor on it a green button will pop up saying 'Pick as solution' or smoothing like that you tap on it.Then this tread is solved.Im sorry about what happened too I hope you dound a way out
